The Forest’s Whisper
Exhibited at The Gallery of the Institute of Ceramic Studies
at Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park, Shiga, Japan (June 2025)
The Forest’s Whisper is a poetic ceramic series by Indonesian-born Australian artist Nani Puspasari, created during her two-month residency at the Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park. Inspired by the quiet mountain forest and the ancient Shigaraki clay, the works explore themes of memory, place, storytelling, and growth. Drawing on her lost childhood garden, Puspasari shapes dreamlike forms, some botanical, others symbolic, that evoke half-remembered stories and imagined guardians. Rather than tell a linear tale, the exhibition unfolds like whispers between trees, inviting viewers to slow down and take in every detail of the sculpture. It is a gentle offering to Shigaraki and a tribute to the quiet resilience of things that grow, seen and unseen.
✿ Note: Combined shipping is available. I will manually refund if there’s any shipping overages after the payment.
