Studio Visit - Fang Bing
Today I had the pleasure of visiting Fang Bing, a ceramic artist based in Yixing, a city famous for its traditional purple clay (Zisha / 紫砂). It's always inspiring to step into another artist's creative world, discover their process, and see how a traditional material can be transformed into something so expressive and full of character.
I'm @_designani currently in Yixing, China, for a three-month ceramic residency with @ccca.yixing , exploring new materials, techniques, and creative connections along the way. More studio adventures to come!

Fang Bing, a ceramic artist based in Yixing, a city famous for its traditional purple clay (Zisha / 紫砂). Fang Bing brings this iconic material to life through playful, character-filled animal sculptures, particularly his signature ceramic pigs! 🐽 Each piece has its own personality, combining humour, imagination, and the rich ceramic traditions of Yixing.
