Cao Jie was born in Guangzhou, China in 1992. He got his bachelor’s degree from Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute in 2015. He got his master’s degree from the École des Beaux-Arts in Northern Calais, France in 2020, with the highest award from the judges (Félicitations du jury). His most recent projects focus on memory, and use daily life as a field of observation and research, focusing on the activation of self-identity. He always responds to the people and things encountered in daily life in a humorous and active way, and gives his own annotations for ordinary life.
