Studio Visit - Mayu Ueda

During my two-month ceramic residency at @air_sccp in Shigaraki, I met Mayu-san, one of the current resident ceramic artists. We spent many lovely days together in the studio; sharing meals, stories, and laughter. Mayu-san is such a kind, caring, and gentle soul, I feel so grateful our paths crossed in Shigaraki.

During the residency, she created her public ceramic artwork ‘Daikon’ (2025), now presented at @rokkomeetsart @rokkomorinone as part of Kobe Rokko Meets Art 2025 Beyond, on view until the end of 2027.
