Jingru Mai (Moira Mai) is an emerging Chinese female artist who is studying for her PhD at the University of Sydney. She focuses on the development of ceramic and glass art without excluding any other art materials and is interested in combining different materials together, preferring to create colourful and poetic works.
Most of her work discusses psychological experience, intergenerational relationships, emotional landscapes and sexuality, especially lesbian. In this creative endeavour, she drew inspiration from the local ambience and ceramic culture of Jingdezhen, producing a series of works conveying fragile emotions. She is currently active in exhibitions in Sydney, Melbourne and cities in China.
