24 Jun - 15 Oct 17 - BIG SKY LITTLE MOON - Barry McGee & Clare Rojas
Watari-Um Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo, Japan
Photographed by Nani Puspasari - Daily updates @melbartdiary

California-born artist Barry McGee started out on the street, inspired by the graffiti scene in early ’90s San Francisco, but has later turned to paintings of undulating geometries and concentric lines that seem more cerebral than populist. This show at the Watari-Um comes exactly a decade after McGee's first exhibition at the same museum and features work created together with his wife, Clare Rojas. Also set to take part in this summer's Reborn Art Festival up in Tohoku, McGee and his tongue-in-cheek blending of art and commerce are well worth revisiting. (timeout).

Science of Styling Masterclass
Nani Puspasari_megan morton1.jpg

I've admired Megan Morton's work for a long time. She is one of prolific Australian stylist, works with atmospheres and interior. She been featured in the pages of Vogue Living, Inside Out and In Style and on the covers of international publications; Elle Decoration UK and Vanity Fair. I was very excited that I had the chance to attend one of her Melbourne Roadshow program: Science of Styling Masterclass yesterday at Small Giant

Here a few quotes from her presentation that I like and would like to share:
"I am going to make everything around me beautiful - that will be my life." Elsie de Wolfe
"No amount of money can buy you style. It's just instinctive. You can't try to be somebody you're not; that's not style." Iris Aprel
"The best stylist don't have the best of everything, they just make the best of everything."

Fun courses being run each day this week by a host of Australian talents. Visit The School website for the program, be quick because all are booking out fast. Photographed by Nani P for @melbartdiary.
