Adulthood encompasses the boundaries between the ideal of being an adult, the loss of childhood’s innocence, and the pursuit of embracing our imperfections. It addresses the fantasy of overcoming the burden of transitioning into adulthood. Life’s ups and downs. Everything seems fickle. The artist uses naivety as a humorous and sarcastic approach, which enables her to reveal her inner-child.

Closer than Close

The paintings were born from images of the places and travel the artist has visited. Here, rendered on paper and paint, these images gain power more than just a photo. More than just passing through, they peel back the surface to the underlying conversations and contexts that make up memories of place.
